Erica Synths releases two new Pico modules and ports Pico Drums into VCV Rack
I wonder how blurred the lines will become between real modules and virtual ones? Erica Synths is flirting with the world of emulated Eurorack with some recent ports into VCV Rack and now Pico Drums is having a go. Meanwhile back in the real world, they release the Pico LFO/S&H and Pico Mixer.
Pico LFO/S&H
Let’s tackle the real world first. Pico LFO/S&H, as the name suggests, is an LFO modulator with Sample & Hold. It’s completely analogue, has independent triangle and square wave outputs and a separate output for the S&H. You have a rate knob at the top and clock in and out further down so you can sync it up to the rest of your system. It’s 3HP wide and only โฌ80 and a good solid and useful module in such a small space.
Pico Mixer
They are not fooling anyone with these cryptic names. The Pico Mixer is a 3 channel mixer for blending either audio or CV signals. 3 inputs, 1 output and 3 level controls. Simple, $50 and 3HP.
Pico Drums VCV Rack
Meanwhile back on your computer in the emulated Eurorack environment of VCV Rack, Pico Drums has arrived. Developed by Raphaรซl Hoffmanโ it joins the Black Wavetable VCO and Black Octasource as Erica Synths foray into VCV Rack. As with the hardware it provides 2 sampled drum sounds selected from the 64 internal samples. Like the hardware, you get a number of routing options what you can control by CV. And to create a whole kit just keep adding more modules!
Erica Synths are continuing to do great stuff in both the real and virtual worlds at the moment, long may it continue.
