Superbooth 2021: Expert Sleepers adding the Poly Exciter synth to Disting EX
In a forthcoming v1.9 firmware update Disting EX is getting another polysynth but this time it’s about resonators.
Poly Exciter
Only little bits of information so far in that it’s an 8 voice polysynth that’s reminiscent of modules such as Mutable Instrument Rings and Qu-Bit Surface. The name Poly Exciter suggests resonators or physical modelling, maybe using bandpass filters or karplus strong. What we get in the video is a lovely sequence of sustaining struck strings.

There appear to be Unison modes, parameter controls over tone, dampening and excitement as well as a number of effects like chorus and delay built into the algorithm.
When the Disting EX launched it came with a polyphonic Sample Player but since then updates have brought a wavetable Polysynth and the Granulator. This module just gets more and more useful.
Expert Sleepers are not exhibiting at Superbooth this year but I imagine the 1.9 firmware update will be released to coincide with the show.
