Though currently only a teaser, the upcoming Strandberg Sälen Jazz is a milestone for the company: it is the guitar-maker’s first ever venture into semi-hollowbody territory. Could this ‘jazz’ model bring something new to the forward-thinking design of the Strandberg range?

Strandberg Sälen Jazz

For now Strandberg has only teased its new Sälen Jazz model on social media, so we don’t know all the juicy details just yet. What we do know is that it’s the company’s first ever semi-hollowbody production model. And that in itself is quite exciting. However, it isn’t the first time that Strandberg has melded modern design with more traditional guitar forms. A few years back, we saw the company introduce a Telecaster-style model.

This new model will be a headless design, with that famous Strandberg neck carve and with all the modern appointments we are now used to seeing from the forward-thinking guitar manufacturer. It could be something really special, and I’m looking forward to the official release.

Price and launch

Strandberg will officially announce the new Sälen Jazz, with all the specifications, on April 6th. Experience has shown that it shouldn’t take too long to be delivered to the retailer. But, since the models are built in the USA, it could take a little longer coming across the pond due to current circumstances.

The price is also not yet clear, although my estimate is that it will be around EUR 2000, like most of the company’s other models.
