Strandberg is launching a visually striking new model, the Boden Metal Sarah Longfield. This new signature model is available in six, seven and eight-string varieties.
Strandberg Boden Metal Sarah Longfield
The first thing that jumps out at you is the colour scheme: this model is finished in an eye-catching Black Doppler artwork that Sarah created herself. She tested the overall design of the guitar on her own custom Boden, so if it is good enough for her, I’m sure many other players will also love it.
Structurally, the guitars are made from chambered basswood with a maple top and have a roasted maple neck loaded with a 20″-radius ebony fretboard. Of course you get Strandberg’s EndurNeck profile, which I hear is super-comfortable. The scale lengths are as follows – 25.5” – 25” on the 6-string, 26.25” – 25.5” on the 7-string and 28” – 26.5” on the 8-string.
Each model comes loaded with 24 Jescar 57110 Stainless Steel frets, so it should play like a dream.
Fishman Fluence Modern
Hardware-wise, you get the ever-popular Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers, with an Alnico type at the neck and a Ceramic type at the bridge. The pickups are wired so that you have a master volume control, with push/pull coil-splitting and a push/pull master tone control that gives you two voices.
I have yet to play a Strandberg myself, but my good friend Arran Walker of the band Hybridize plays a 7-String Strandberg and swears by it and the Fishman pickups. So if he likes it, then I am sure it will appeal to many other players looking for a modern high performance instrument.
You can order the new Strandberg Boden Metal Sarah Longfield model in 6-String, 7-String and 8-String formats. So something for everyone there. The video below gives you a brief idea of what to expect from this guitar. I think it looks great personally and the specification is fantastic.
RRP – six-string version USD 2395, the seven-string USD 2449 and the eight-string USD 2495
