The latest Manson Guitar Works MB-1 Blanta Edition Matt Bellamy signature model is a blacked-out take on the sparkling Red Santa model and now comes in a sleek dark finish.
Manson MB-1 Blanta Edition
As ever the new Manson MB-1 Blanta Edition is a pretty amazing-looking guitar and features a host of Matt Bellamy‘s trademark specifications and custom specifications.
The guitars come in that super stealth-looking black sparkle finish with matching black hardware throughout. They will be available for a limited time and will attract a lot of attention from fans of Muse and Matt Bellamy.

V1 & V2
Key specifications include a two-piece alder body with a highly figured 3A Birdseye maple neck and an ebony fretboard.
The neck has the MB Soft “V” neck shape and a 12″-16″ compound radius. Plus there is a V2 model with a roasted 5A flame maple neck.
Pickups on this model are the PF-1 Matthew Bellamy Signature bridge humbucker, plus a Sustainiac Stealth PRO in the neck position. The bridge has a coil tap on the PF-1 for cleaner, single-coil sounds via the pull of the tone knob control.

X/Y MIDI
Hardware includes a Gotoh GTC-102 bridge, a set of Gotoh 510 tuners, and Manson’s X/Y MIDI Controller embedded in the body behind the bridge.
The guitar ships in a Manson-branded Hiscox hard case.
Verdict
These high-end UK-built guitars are at the top of their game and will no doubt sell out quickly, as Bellamy has a huge following. Plus, the Manson Guitar Works team are some of the best builders in the world, with a huge pro client list. I’d expect the best quality from these and they will no doubt be stunning instruments.

If your budget can’t quite stretch to one of the MB-1 Blanta models, then the Cort MBM-2P * is a good bet for well under the price. They are based on Matt’s guitar and are also a great platform to modify and make your own.

Inventions like this XY pad have always scared me as a guitarist, and like most of us guitar strummers, we are very inclined towards tradition and tend to be skeptical of such technical possibilities, not knowing what to do with them. What’s even worse is the price, it’s just outrageous. Guitars in this price range should have absolutely exclusive features, and I have serious doubts about that. So, this amphibian is definitely not going to be a bestseller!
