Manson Matt Bellamy DL-2 and MB-2 signature models are two limited releases announced today by Manson Guitar Works in the UK. The Muse frontman is part owner of the guitar brand and so these will be something very special.

Manson Guitar Works has today announced new limited-edition, UK-built runs of two Matt Bellamy signature guitars. The DL-2 and MB-2 are both more affordable models, comparatively. For example, the DL-2 originally sold for £9,999 and is now being listed for £3,999 which is a huge saving. These aren’t factory-made mass-produced instruments, but rather hand-made guitars, built in a small workshop in Devon. Part of the cost saving is by reducing the amount of aluminium in the guitar’s construction and offering it in a Satin DL Silver finish instead.

Limited Run
The neck is based on the limited-run road-worn DL-OR Relic from 2021. It comes with neat birds-eye maple figuring on the neck and has the original fret wire size and comes with the alternate side dot placement.
Pickups include a set of Manson hand-wound DB-90 neck pickup and a Mother Superior multi-rail bridge humbucker. Plus, it has an onboard Z.Vex USA custom Manson Fuzz Factory circuit and MXR Phase 90 circuit. All are activated via a dual or quad-rail push/pull pot.
This limited release will be available as two runs of 10 pieces and includes a hard case, plus a hand-signed certificate.

Then there is the stealthy-looking Matt Black Matt Bellamy MB-2. This one comes with an alder body, a birdseye maple neck with an ebony fingerboard with a 12-16” compound radius. These have Gotoh hardware and are built to play hard.

Sustainiac
Pickups include a pair of Manson DP-90 ‘bridge’ pickups that can be operated individually or used a bit like a humbucker. Which can be activated via a push-pull pot. Then it has a Sustainiac neck pickup with toggle-switches for the sustainer functions. Along with a kill switch and a Manson MIDI controller pad. This pad allows you to control MIDI-controlled effects like the Digitech Whammy with your fingertips.
The price includes a Manson Hiscox hard case and a hand-signed certificate. Again, two production runs, but this time 20 will be available, with the first all featuring full custom necks.
