Manson Guitar Works unveils the extremely limited DL-OR and DL-OR Relic

The Manson Guitar Works DL-OR and DL-OR Relic models we talked about last week are now ready and being released in extremely limited quantities. The guitars are based on Matt Bellamy’s original aluminium-covered model by Hugh Manson. And, of course, pay tribute to the DeLorean time-machine from the Back To The Future films.
Manson Guitar Works DL-OR and DL-OR Relic
These two guitars are going to appeal to fans of Muse and Matt Bellamy, as well as Back To The Future. Both are based on Matt’s original Manson Guitar Works model which was clad in aluminium and filled with effects pedals. Both versions of the DL-OR come with a fully-clad aluminium body, while the DL-OR Relic uses the same gauge 6230 fret wire and fingerboard side dot location as Matt’s guitar.

Custom Effects Boards
Manson Guitar Works’ Tim Stark, whose work is impeccable, is heading up the build. The company also got Ron Joyce, who wired the original DeLorean guitar, involved. The new models have a custom acoustic preamp and sub fuzz boards made to the same specification as Matt’s original.

The onboard USA ZVEX Fuzz Factory and vintage MXR Phase 90 reissue, modified at Manson Guitar Works, are both fitted into the rear of the guitars. The controls are accessible on the front of the guitar. And ZVEX’s Shoua Thao even sourced the original transistors for the Fuzz Factory and the same breadboard used to build the original guitar’s circuit.

DL-OR Pickups
The guitars come with a multi-rail Mother Superior pickup in the bridge and a DeciBel hot P90 in the neck position, both designed by Manson Guitar Works’ Simon Thorn. There’s also a Graphtech Piezo bridge for you to play with. Controls for each guitar are as follows; volume, tone with coil-split, piezo volume, phase speed, kill switch, fuzz and phase on/off, fuzz stab and comp pots.
Specifications
Full aluminium body cladding, an aluminium headstock face engraved logo, a birdseye maple neck with rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo frets. Hardware is all custom and includes a set of Gotoh 510 HAP tuners.
Each guitar also comes with a custom Protechnic flight case, a laser-etched certificate of authenticity, a premium deluxe Heistercamp Manson guitar strap and signature guitar picks. There is also a hand-signed card from Bellamy.
Pricing
With only 20 Standard versions and 6 Relic versions being made, these are extremely limited edition models. Although, I’m sure they will sell out immediately, as Matt Bellamy has a massive fanbase and these guitars are all hand-made to his specifications.
