KHDK launches My Big Fatt Rawk, a ‘dickstortion’ pedal
A new tool for your rig?
Billed as a “dickstortion”, the My Big Fatt Rawk is a limited edition distortion pedal with a very high-gain voicing best suited to hard rock. It follows on from the recent Nergal signature LCFR overdrive/boost pedal and is, again, a heavy-sounding stompbox.
The circuit is solid-state and uses MOSFET technology. There’s a built-in treble booster in there as well.

Pink Fool
Launched on 1 April, everyone initially thought this pink stompbox was a joke. Turns out, it’s not. So if you want a penis-themed distortion pedal in your rig, you’ll have to act fast as they are only available till 31 April, according to the KHDK site. Has anyone told them April only has 30 days?
The controls are labelled Hardiness (Gain), Length (Volume), Girth (Pre-distortion EQ) and Shrinkage (Low pass filter). It has not one, but two LED status lights, and a soft touch footswitch. All the connections are on the top and it is, of course, true-bypass.

KHDK has done a video with Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman and comedian Brian Posehn, the originators of this pedal – you can watch it here. Pre-orders end April 31st(?) and the pedals will start shipping in 8-12 weeks. So if you need one of these to go with your Pussy Melter or Butthole Burner, now’s the time to place your order.

All of KHDK’s goofy artwork and dumb labels might seem funnier if the pedals themselves sounded good instead of just looking stupid.
Not funny.
I wonder if there will be as much outrage about this as there was about Steel Panther’s Pussy Melter pedal? Or will it just be treated with the contempt it so richly deserves, having been created by manboys with a mental age of 12?
I don’t want to stir up any “outrage culture” griping here, but this is really dumb and definitely not as funny as they think it is. Plus, Fall Out Boy are terminally uncool, so points off right away. I’d also venture to guess Kirk Hammett has little to no idea what the hell this company is actually doing with their products half the time. He might as well have licensed his name out to a toothpaste brand.
It is interesting that pedals with in-built ‘dick jokes’ are still a thing in 2021.
I’m really not fussed anymore, but we’ve had everything from Super Hard Ons, to Pussy Melters, so someone must be into dick jokes?
Then there are Big Muffs and Merkin fuzzes, but that is another story.
ugghhh can we stop letting 12 year old boys design pedals… ::eyeroll::
In addition to the bad taste in the product, can gear sites step and actually boycott promoting these kinds of products? That might actually have an affect on the industry, if gear sites and product demo-ers just say “no” to gear companies when they come up with products that are sexist. There are plenty of new products across the industry worth promoting that don’t have utterly stupid names and alienating bro jokes.
I hope this sells precisely zero units
I doubt they will be popular, so unlikely to be an in demand pedal or ‘collectable’ etc
