Acustica Audio has brought its Green suite of mix and mastering gear emulations to version 4. Initially launched in 2014, the suite has progressed to a total of four processors driven by the developer’s latest CORE 16 audio engine.
Acustica Audio Green4
Green4 contains emulations of four hardware processors made in the USA and designed by none other than George Massenburg, the inventor of parametric equalization. Most likely, Acustica has modeled the GML8200 parametric equalizer and the GML8900 Dynamic Range Controller. These are among the most ‘venerable’ units made in the George Massenburg Labs, which the respected engineer, professor and producer founded in 1982. The plug-ins featured are:
- Green4 Mono Parametric Equalizer (GREEN4EQMX)
5-band continuous mono parametric EQ with high/low shelf filters, Q amplitude adjustment per band, L/R – M/S controls and preamp emulation.
- Green4 True-Stereo Parametric Mixing Equalizer (GREEN4EQST)
A stereo version of the mono EQ with the addition of metering, Pan, Spread, and phase inversion controls.
- Green4 Stereo Parametric Mastering Equalizer (GREEN4ZENEQ)
A fixed frequency 5-band stereo parametric EQ with L/R/M/S processing, control link, Pan, Spread, Phase Inversion controls; preamp emulation and +6 / -6 dB gain excursion plus Q adjustment for each band.
- Green4 Stereo Mastering Limiter/Compressor (GREEN4ZENCMP)
Stereo limiter/compressor consisting of a pair of compressors (fast & slow) running in parallel for each channel. Controls include Blend, L-R/M-S, Pan, and Spread. Metering is available as well.
All in all, another collection of respectable gear emulations done the Acustica way!
