Acustica Audio introduces White3 solid-state mastering suite
Acustica Audio has announced White3. The updated mastering plug-in suite now includes emulations of two Italian boutique hardware units: the WSM PEQ-2.0 Pultec-style equalizer and the WSM DLP Dual Line Preamplifier.

The plug-ins of the Acustica Audio White3 solid-state mastering suite are based on two rare hardware units from the renowned Italian studio White Sound Mastering. Hence the name, even though the plug-ins themselves sport a blueish grey finish with an obvious Pultec vibe.
White3 PEQ-2.0 and FLT-2.0
White3 PEQ-2.0 is an emulation of the WSM PEQ-2.0, which is a solid-state equalizer with a dual-mono channel topology for mastering. Despite its solid-state design, it’s a Pultec-style EQ with passive filters, inductors and transformers that was designed to be an evolution of the classic Pultec design with enhanced transient response. The split low frequency band allows you to use the cut and boost features simultaneously on different frequencies. As a mastering EQ, the PEQ-2.0 features stepped controls for accurate stereo operation and recall capabilities. It operates in L/R or M/S modes.
New line preamp
As a second plug-in, Acustica Audio has added White3 FLT-2.0 , which emulates the WSM DLP Dual Line Preamplifier. This passive, solid-state line preamp is ideally suited to mastering, Acustica says. It also includes dedicated mastering cutting filters designed by Tommy Bianchi to his specifications, Acustica says. In addition to the cutting filter, the plug-in offers input trim and output level controls, as well as a sweeping high pass filter that reaches up to 200 Hz.

Price and compatibility
As with all its releases, Acustica Audio offers a nice introductory discount. During the first four weeks, White3 is available for €110 instead of €169.
The plug-ins require macOS 10.14 or higher (M1 compatible) or Windows 10 or higher. They’re available in VST, AU and AAX formats. You’ll need Acustica’s Aquarius application to install and activate the plug-ins, or download a trial version.
