W.A. Production has teamed up with Thai-born producer 22Bullets and released Heat, a unique dual distortion, saturation and filtering plug-in. Heat is designed to add power and intensity to your tracks, while maintaining musicality.
W.A. Production Heat by 22Bullets
As part of W.A. Production’s line of artist-curated plug-ins, Heat was developed in collaboration with 22Bullets. The plug-in lets you smash your audio tracks using a blend of two types of distortion or saturation. But it’s “more than a mindless fuzz box”, as W.A. Production puts it. The included filters let you shape the distortion in unique and interesting ways, to ensure that the results are always musical.
Heat offers ten types of modeled distortion. The plug-in splits the signal into two distortion chambers, for each of which you can choose a different distortion or saturation algorithm. Each chamber offers an independent drive control.
After the distortion comes a pair of filters for additional signal shaping. This dual setup lets you achieve all kinds of creative results. For example, you could distort only the midrange of a synth part or just the lowest frequencies of a bass drum. The filters add a level of precision that most distortion plug-ins don’t offer.
Each channel also has its own dedicated gain control. In the center of the plug-in, you’ll find input and output sliders that can be used to compensate for any gain boost or cut caused by the distortion chambers. There’s also a mix control that lets you blend in the desired amount of the effect.
Heat includes a large selection of presets for specific instruments, genres and effects. And as an extra bonus, you’ll receive a 2 GB sample pack by 22Bullets with many of the artist’s signature samples and stems.
