QEX

The Quad Drum Voice (QD) is a 4-voice digital drum module. Each part can be a sample player, wavetable VCO or drum model with controls over decay, pitch and sample selection. It’s got assignable CV inputs, nice sized mute switches and is a very versatile and playable source of drum sounds.

At this years Superbooth he’s showing QEX, a 4HP expander module for the QD which gives it a much wider scope. QEX adds 2 more outputs so that each voice now has its own output. You can also mess about with the routing over CV which sounds intriguing. There are 4 more CV inputs which, like the existing 4, are assignable to any controllable parameters. 2 of the CV inputs can also be used as clock/gate inputs for fills and ratchets or additional triggers. And then you have 4 more LED buttons that give you finger poking control over more internal features.

We don’t yet have the full details but it sounds like QEX pushes QD into a more comprehensive space turning a great module into a fabulous one.
