The collaboration of PRS and John Mayer has been one of the great success stories regarding signature guitars in recent years. Many Silver Sky models have outsold other signature Strats by large numbers, sometimes even surpassing normal ST-style guitars from other guitar makers. For this year’s NAMM, the 2026 Silver Sky celebrates that success with a highly limited edition in Wild Blue. There will only ever be 1,000 copies made, so this edition is extremely limited in numbers.
PRS 2026 Silver Sky: Beautiful Turquoise
Those of us who’re fans of the Silver Sky series might fondly remember those special editions in Nebula, and Lunar Ice a while back. These stunning models were highly limited in number and sold out in minutes. With the 2026 Silver Sky in Wild Blue, another exciting version of this special edition joins their ranks.

There will only ever be 1,000 copies made, with 250 for Europe. PRS says that a turquiose edition was developed early in the relationship between them and John Mayer that started with the release of the first Silver Sky models in 2018. But only today, it comes to light.
Classic Silver Sky Specs
Regarding specs, the 2026 Silver Sky maintains what’s popular and tried and true for the series. You get an alder boder with a 25.5″ maple neck. It is worth noting that PRS has opted to limit this iteration to rosewood fretboards only, with a typical with 7.25” radius and, of course, small bird inlays.
In terms of hardware, you get a PRS steel trem, a bone nut, and vintage-style locking tuners. This model also sports Mayer’s 635JM single coils, three of them, that is. You also get the usual 5-way blade switch, a volume knob, and two tone knobs.
Conclusion
Although not cheap, this will be one sought-after special edition. The 2026 Silver Sky in Wild Blue will likely turn heads and empty wallets, that is for sure. Fingers crossed that we’re getting a similarly colored version in the more affordable SE series at some point.
