The package combines the NTH-100 studio headphones with the new NTH-Mic, which is also available separately. This means you can give the NTH-100 headset functionality, by attaching the NTH-Mic.

If you’re unfamiliar with the NTH-100 headphones, they are a closed-back design with matched 40mm neodymium drivers and an impedance rating of 32 ohms.

The comfortable memory foam earcups also provide passive isolation from noise, which is useful. However, possibly the most interesting aspect of the design is that you can insert the output lead or the headset mic on either side of the headset.

This is particularly beneficial if you’re working on camera, as you can configure the orientation of the NTH-100M to fit your setup rather than the other way around.

The NTH-100 headphones have been hugely successful since their release back in March,” said RØDE CEO, Damien Wilson. “We spent years meticulously designing these headphones to deliver the best listening experience possible, and they were an instant hit with everyone from audio professionals to home musicians and content creators, particularly for their highly accurate sound signature and ultra-comfortable design. It was incredibly gratifying to see our hard work pay off and now it is with great pleasure that we can deliver everything the NTH-100s have to offer in a professional headset.”

The NTH-Mic is a condenser mic with an omnidirectional pickup pattern and a presence range that naturally enhances speech intelligibility. A key aspect of the design is that it’s positioned off-axis which reduces the impact of plosives or sibilance.

In addition, the bayonet TRRS jack locks into the headset, so the mic remains in the same position regardless of how animated as you become during your streaming session.

The overall impression of the NTH-100M headset is that it combines broadcast-quality audio with sleek minimalistic design aesthetics that ensure it won’t stand out on camera.
