December rolls on and we’re excited to launch the third of five raffles! This week we’re giving away a hat-trick of brilliant synth books by premium publisher Bjooks, authored by Kim Bjørn.

Push Turn Move

Every time Bjooks publishes a new book, everyone at Gearnews is drooling over the latest perfectly crafted homage to musical creativity. Beautifully designed and packed with essays, technical information and artist testimonials, each book examines a particular aspect of music gear. Bjooks’ works to date have included Synth Gems 1, an exploration of vintage synthesizers, Patch and Tweak, a comprehensive investigation of the modular synth universe, and Push Turn Move. The latter, now published in an updated 2021 edition with a foreword by Jean Michelle Jarre, which examines design approaches to electronic instruments.

Among the artists contributing the Patch and Tweak are Caterina Barbieri, Todd Barton, Colin Benders, Ian Boddy, Russell E.L. Butler, Richard Devine, Jill Fraser, Bana Haffar, Hataken, Andrew Huang, Junkie XL, NODE, Robert Rich, Robin Rimbaud, Lady Starlight, Emily Sprague and Hans Zimmer. I think most of us can learn something here.
