Back in September Accusonus released Regroover Essentials. It’s a clever bit of unmixing software that pulls out all the parts from a drum loop and let you process them separately. Regroover Pro adds the ability to extract individually hits as samples and sticks them in a kit for you to play.
With the launch of Regroover Essentials, they also promised the Pro version but it’s taken until now for it to be ready. Regroover Pro lets you isolate and extract individual samples from the very cleverly extracted drum loop elements. So Regroover pulls apart a mixed drum loop into individual tracks of hats, kick, snare, toms. The Pro bit lets you select individual hits and slap them onto some drum pads. You can then play or sequence those hits along with the original drum loop. Not sure what I mean? Check out the the video below.
It gives you a surprising amount of flexibility in re-shaping and, of course, regrooving your drum loops. Once you’ve extracted these previously unreachable sounds you can save them as an “expansion kit” which can then be shared between other users. Accusonus have updated the Essentials version to allow it to play expansion kits created in Pro. There’s a first expansion kit called the Alpha Pack available for download for free for use in either version.
Regroover Pro is available now for AU, VST and AAX on both Windows and MacOS and is $159 until the end of the year. More information on the Accusonus website.
