The new limited run of Kirk Hammett Ouija guitars have become available in both ESP and LTD versions. Both models feature quilted maple tops and Kirk’s Ouija Board graphic.
Ouija
The Metallica guitarist is pretty famous for having a Ouija Board graphic on one of his main guitars. Unsurprisingly, this design has become associated with him since he first used them in the early ’90s. The original models are now quite sought after and collectors, fans and lovers of Metallica will all know and love the design. We’ve covered his Nosferatu model in the past, but the Ouija Board version is a fan favourite, so I expect this one to be very popular.
These two new limited edition models follow on from the black and later white editions of the Ouija guitar and are now available in a natural coloured quilted maple. The graphic is applied over the top and then sealed in, allowing the quilt of the maple to show through nicely.
With only 25 of the ESP edition and 666 of the LTD variety available worldwide, I assume that many Metallica fans will snap these up pretty quickly.

Custom Shop
The full priced Japanese Custom Shop version ESP KH Ouija has a 5mm-thick quilted top and matching quilted maple pickup covers, as well as a scalloped fingerboard on frets 17 to 24. You will also notice that the Ouija graphic is applied over the pickups and the main guitar body, whereas the LTD edition has black EMG pickup covers and doesn’t look quite as lush as the Custom Shop one.

The LTD version of the Ouija Natural is made in Korea and has the same black binding on the body and headstock, as well as a nice dark Macassar ebony fingerboard.

Both versions of the guitar come loaded with an EMG 60 in the neck position and an EMG 81 in the bridge pickup set. You also get a special Ouija hardshell case and a Certificate of Authenticity.
These are both nice-looking guitars. Knowing ESP well, I think they should play nicely, as I have yet to play a bad ESP guitar. Even their lower priced LTD range tends to be great and usually punch way above their weight for price bracket they are in.
Some people have already received their LTD versions and each one is numbered 1-666, which is a nice touch.
