That new Kirk Hammett V is finally out!

The ESP Kirk Hammett LTD KH-V signature models are finally out, having been teased last year via the Metallica guitarist’s Instagram account. I covered the news briefly in one of our Guitar Gear Gems weekly roundups, but now we have all the details and specifications.
Kirk Hammett LTD KH-V
These new LTD KH-V models are available in Black Sparkle, Red Sparkle and Metallic Gold finishes. They all have matching headstocks and come with Sharkfin-like Wave fretboard inlays. Making them look very “Metal!” and perfect for the Metallica guitarist.
ESP USA V-II
Offset V
The modern offset V-style is based on three ESP custom shop models that Hammet was playing back in 2019, the ESP USA V-1 (see photo above) and now you can get a more affordable version of this guitar.
Korina
It has a 25.5” scale length, with a Korina body and three-piece extra-thin U-shaped maple neck with a Macassar ebony fretboard fitted with 24 extra-jumbo frets which all adds up to a pretty sharp-looking instrument. Hardware includes a TonePros bridge and a set of LTD locking tuners.
Bone Breaker
These come factory fitted with a set of Hammett’s signature EMG Bone Breaker pickups. If you have ever heard Kirk play then you will know exactly what this new signature guitar is all about. It has controls that consist of volume and tone knobs, plus a three-way selector switch.
Signature
I think it looks pretty swish and it comes in at under $2k which for such a high-spec guitar is pretty reasonable, especially as it is a Kirk Hammett signature model. The price does thankfully include a hard case.
This is great, as sourcing cases for any type of V-style guitar can be really annoying and expensive.
