ESP has announced a new set of limited edition Kirk Hammett Sparkle Ouija models. Intrigued? Let’s just say that these sparkly new signature guitars will, er, certainly stand out from the crowd!

The new finished for the Metallica guitarist KH-2 Ouija new sparkle models are Purple and Red Sparkle. 500 models will be available in each finish. This guitar is based on the original Ouija guitar he has been playing since the ’90s, but these new sparkling editions are far more eye-catching than those old black and white editions ever were.

Each one has a a three-piece extra-thin U-shaped maple neck with a Macassar ebony fingerboard loaded with 24 extra-jumbo frets and star and moon inlays. On the hardware side you get a Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo system, LTD tuners and a set of Kirk’s signature EMG KH-BB Bone Breaker active pickups.

These models are all ESP LTD versions, so they come in at what I think is a very reasonable price. I’m a big fan of the LTD Series of guitars and reckon these will be stunners for the money. If you like the finish, that is.

Custom Shop Edition

Next year, ESP will be releasing two KH-2 Ouija Sparkle guitars built in their ESP Custom Shop in Japan. These will be strictly limited to 30 guitars in each finish and will retail for USD 12,000 each. So you better get saving now if you want one!
