At NAMM 2026, Latin Percussion (LP) has unveiled an addition to the Tony Succar Collection, a signature collection celebrating the multi-Grammy-winning percussionist’s influence and sound. This launch expands LP’s flagship offerings with colorful congas, timbales, snares, and cajóns.

Tony Succar is a Peruvian-American percussionist, composer, producer, and bandleader whose work bridges Latin, jazz, and contemporary music. He is widely recognized for his unique and expressive style, earning him multiple Latin Grammy Awards, including Best Salsa Album and Producer of the Year in 2019, and a Grammy in 2025 for Best Tropical Latin Album.

Throughout his career, Succar has collaborated with a wide range of artists and ensembles. He is particularly renowned for his timbale and percussion work, as well as his innovative arrangements that honour classic Afro-Latin rhythms while pushing them forward. His reputation as a talented musician and arranger has established him as an influential figure in Latin music, making him a natural partner for LP’s most comprehensive signature series of instruments.

What the Tony Succar Series Includes

The Tony Succar Series is a comprehensive range of percussion instruments that combine visual flair with versatile performance. At its core are the Quinto, Conga, and Tumba congas, which are built with New Zealand pine stave shells to produce a bright, open, and punchy tone that is suitable for both live performances and studio recordings. Each drum is finished with a distinctive rainbow aesthetic and black nickel hardware for a bold, contemporary look.

The lineup of the new Tony Succar Collection is completed by timbales and timbalitos based on LP’s popular Tito Puente series. These feature rainbow chrome-plated steel shells as well. The range includes three snare sizes (10″ Salsa and 8″/6″ micro models) and a cajón with an adjustable snare wire and a gloss black birch soundboard.

In addition to the Tony Succar Collection, Latin Percussion has expanded its NAMM 2026 range to include City Series 13″ and 14″ timbales aimed at beginners and Pedrito timbales for professionals. There are also limited-edition cherry wood congas and bongos that showcase premium materials and finishes.

Limited Edition Congas

Besides the Tony Succar Collection, Latin Percussion also presented a new Limited Edition Cherry Conga set. These drums are made from solid cherry wood which results in a very brigth, present tone with controlled sustain.

These 30-inch drums are available in 11“ Quinto, 11-3/4” Conga, and 12-1/2“ Tumba versions, while The bongo set consists of 7 ¼” and 8 5/8″ sizes. The congas cost between $869 and $899, while the bongos cost $599.
