Sounds and Presets
Moog One Sound Bank for Moog One by Scott McAuley Sounds
The Moog One landed in 2018 and caused quite the stir! It was the first Moog polysynth for a generation, and its specification was astounding. Available in 8 or 16 voice configurations, it featured three-part multi-timbrality, three brand new VCOs per voice, twin independent analogue filters, four LFOs, three EG’s and a whole host of powerful synth features.
However, the Moog One wasn’t without its issues. Early versions had tuning issues, users complained about how the wood case creaked when the synth warmed up, and there were many, deeply drawn gasps at the price. Subsequent firmware updates gave users access to calibration routines, plenty of functionality updates and improved stability.

Then, back in 2024, just six years after its release, Moog pulled the plug on the One, committing it to history as a flawed but magnificent giant. But Moog One users were treated to a new update last September, underlining the fact that even under new management, Moog Music were still supporting the One’s user base.
Now we have a brand new sound bank for the Moog One, courtesy of Scott McAuley Sounds, and being sold in benefit of the magnificent Bob Moog Foundation. Set up by Bob’s daughter, Michelle, the Foundation sets out to not only preserve Bob’s legacy and archive, but also educate young people via their outreach program, Dr Bob’s Soundschool.
All proceeds from this Moog One bank go to the Foundation, and there are some absolute belters in this pack. It contains 100 new individual custom sounds that are used to create 50 custom patches covering all the usual sound types.
So if you have a Moog One, and you want to support the Bob Moog Foundation, this pack is a no-brainer. It’s available now over at the BMF store, for just £17!
Ambient Analog FM Patches for SWAYED by Nick Klimenko
As the Eighties gave way to the Nineties, music trends were shifting ever more closely to dance and electronica, spurred on by the likes of House, Acid, Trance, Techno and more. Kids with seemingly unlimited talent were grabbing the analogue tools of the past and making groundbreaking music with them.
Meanwhile, the big manufacturers were keen to push on with new stuff. Korg were building bigger and better workstations and Roland had their Linear Arithmetic product line that had trounced Yamaha’s FM, but the big Y wasn’t ready to give in. They saw the future contained samples and so decided to blend those alongside a more powerful and advanced FM engine in the SY/TG77 and SY99.

The sounds of these synths permeated many great recordings, and earlier this year, Stryde Audio took us back to those heady days with their SWAYED plugin, a brilliantly realised interpretation of the SY/TG range that gave us access to the sounds, features and functionality of those classic 90s synths.
Now, LFO.store give us Ambient Analog FM, a set of 64 presets that delve deep into the FM side of the SY/TG range, giving us some gloriously quintessential FM sounds as well as emulations of classic analog synths of the day.
And because SWAYED faithfully follows the synth engine structure of those hardware classics, these sounds will work fully on an old SY/TG 77 or SY99! Something for everyone at a measly €15 and hopefully the first of many new soundbanks for these brilliant synths!
Lucid Mechanics for Martinic AX73 by Daniel Stawczyk
Synonymous with the democratisation of sampling in the late 80s and beyond, Akai’s short-lived journey into the world of analogue synthesis is often overlooked. Thankfully, companies like Martinic, spent a lot of time and effort into righting that wrong by creating their AX73 plugin.

Many original users of the Akai AX73 have remarked on how accurate a model this is, made even more accessible by the very nature of modern software plugin technology. You can interact with it via its ‘front panel’, but you can now dig in even deeper with a more user-friendly software interface.
Now, in honour of last week’s latest Bandcamp Friday, and for the whole of the month of May, Martinic are making a bank available for free via their website. Created by Daniel Stawczyk, the AX73 Lucid Mechanics Collection features 20 new patches from the man who brought us his best-selling Diaphanous Collection.
Daniel has managed to cram in some really great sounds here, with something for everyone’s taste, really showing off the versatility of the AX73. Making use of all the extra power added to AX73, such as a very useful FX section, this is a real treat of a bank, especially because it will cost you absolutely nothing!
Make sure you head over to the Martinic website before the end of May 2026 to grab this fantastic little freebie, and while you’re there, check out some of the other great sound banks for this truly underappreciated synth!
WAVS Scape for Polyend Synth by A. Kav
Polyend is fast becoming the king of grid-based music making with the likes of the Tracker, the Play+ and the recently announced Drums, but their Synth is a pretty unique beast that offers up multiple synthesis engines, sequencers and live performance tools that many are taking advantage of.

One of these engines is WAVS, a wavetable synth that allows for morphing between two separate wavetables and the ability to control the phase warping and scanning so that you can create very detailed shifts in tone and timbre.
Taking advantage of this engine, A.Kav has produced WAVS Scape, a sound pack for the WAVS engine in Synth that includes 15 Synth Scenes, 50 Synth Presets and 64 new wavetables. These can be easily loaded up into Synth and are usefully marked so that you can identify them from the others in the library.
Specifically aimed at those who make cinematic or ambient tracks, there are some really cool sounds in here to play with and make great use of the WAVS engine and its functionality. You can pick this pack up for €14 directly from the KAV web store.
