SocaLabs Wavetable: Versatile Wavetable Synth

SocaLabs is best known for its emulations of various console sound chips. The developer’s latest project is a versatile Wavetable synth. It boasts two wavetable oscillators that draw from a pool of 100 wavetables, which you can further shape with the detune, spread, and formant parameters, and a multimode filter. Its best feature, however, is its modulation sources. With 6 LFOs, 5 envelopes, a step modulator, and even MPE support, things are constantly in motion.

Wavetable is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, AU, and LV formats.

Viator DSP has released Radiant Q, a free equalizer plugin based on everyone’s favorite tube EQ. The developer claims that Radiant Q captures all the warmth, richness, and musicality of the original hardware. It’s all there: the classic low-frequency band that can be boosted and attenuated at the same time, the bandwidth knob, and the two high-frequency bands with their distinct characteristics and controls. Radiant Q is free – but you should consider naming a fair price if you like it.

Radiant Q is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.

Modern Metal Songwriter The Fuzz: Don’t Call it RAT!

You might be tempted to dismiss The Fuzz by Modern Metal Songwriter as yet another ProCo RAT emulation, but take a closer look and you’ll notice a few features that make this fuzz truly versatile. In addition to the Dist knob that controls the input level and thus distortion, The Fuzz offers an adjustable filter for sound shaping. In addition, there’s a high pass filter that can help to get rid of unwanted muddiness. Lastly, The Fuzz even offers a mix control so you can run it in parallel.

The Fuzz is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats. There’s also a standalone version.
