Victory V4 Revamped & Expanded

Victory Amplification has re-designed the V4 Series of tube amps in a pedal. They are now more compact and have a host of new features, including the Two Notes DynIR technology and Valve Response Circuit powers. Each model now also comes with a headphone output. But that is not all, as the existing Kraken and The Duchess models have been joined by the new Jack, Copper and Sheriff pedals. This brings the range up to five distinct models, each with its own character and tone.

Tube Tone

The pedal’s are based around the V4 amp’s four tubes, with three CV4014s and one EC900 powering each pedal. These work in conjunction with Victory’s new Valve Response Circuit. This new addition is used to emulate the function of a resonance control in the power amp section of a traditional tube amp.

They also feature the new Two Notes DynIR technology. This gives you six presets and access to 10 official Victory DynIR cab models via the Torpedo Remote software.

The Jack

The Jack is billed as an “all-rounder” by Victory. It is based on the V30 Jack amp, co-designed by Guthrie Govan. It is a two-channel amp with a channel selection foot switch, and offers both a mild breakup and what Victory calls “glorious overdrive”.

The Copper

Next up is The Copper which is inspired by British “chime and blues”. This model swaps out the channel switching for a Treble Boost instead. It also includes an effects loop and onboard digital reverb.

The Sheriff

Finally, you have The Sheriff, meant to give you “60s blues to hot-rodded hair metal tones“. Channel One of this two channel model gets you your Classic Rock tone, whilst Channel Two is a modded-Plexi affair. It also includes a three-band EQ, along with a digital reverb.

Curated Tones

On top of all these new features, you also get some new curated tones. All the V4 amp models comes with unique presets curated by a Victory artist. The Kraken by Rabea Massaad, The Duchess by Pete Honore, The Jack by Jack Gardiner, The Copper by Chris Buck, and, finally, The Sheriff by Graham Coxon.

You are getting a lot of great new additions here and I can certainly see this updated and re-styled V4 Series being very popular with gigging guitarists. Check out the video below, or head on over to the Victory Amplification site for the full specifications on each model.

RRP – GBP 799 / USD 999 each

Not cheap, but really nice… it’s one of those things, to ditch the big one and get a small one? Very much want want want!
