Electric Guitars

PRS S2 McCarty SC594 WB and Custom 24 Floyd GB

Listed at 1,698.00 € instead of 1,999.00 €, the PRS S2 McCarty SC594 WB is a great guitar, here in a Whale Blue finish. We were pretty stunned by these guitars when they were announced ahead of NAMM 2020, and this is an opportunity to pick up a nice instrument at a hefty discount of €300. But there’s also a great deal going on a premium Custom 24 model, too, with a Floyd Rose trem, at €700 off.

Another premium guitar offered in Thomann’s Cyber Weeks sale is this Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat Relic. Legendary blues guitarist Stevie Ray Vaughn, has of course, been associated with Fender for decades. This relic’d model is on offer at a jaw-dropping €900 off – this is a fantastic chance to bag yourself a premium guitar associated with one of the greats at a hefty discount.

Gibson Les Paul Slash Standard VB

Gibson has intensified its relationship with its Global Brand Ambassador Slash recently, with a gamut of Slash signature models released over the last few years. The ‘Cat in the Hat’ put his name to this model announced at NAMM 2020, and Thomann is now offering €521 off the spectacular Vermillion Burst version.

Acoustic Guitars

PRS SE T55E

PRS proved long ago that it can build a quality acoustic guitar, and this moderately priced model is no exception. The body shape is Tonare Grand, with a spruce top and a quilted maple body. The fretboard has 20 frets and the typical ‘bird’ inlays. There’s a preamp by Fishman onboard, too, to get the sound to a PA, mixer or interface. Includes a PRS case.

Gibson 60s J-50 Antique Natural

Gibson’s acoustic guitars are among the most sought-after anywhere, so to see this model on offer at €340 off may be particularly alluring to you acoustic players. This guitar harks back to a golden age of acoustic guitars in the 1960s, and uses a classic combination of tone woods: spruce top, mahogany back and sides and rosewood fretbooard. Grover cream button machine heads, tortoiseshell pickguard, Antique Natural finish. Quite the package. No electronics included here, but then again that’s par for the course with a retro-styled guitar like this.

Guitar Effects

Line 6 HX Stomp LTD Run Red and White Editions

The HX Stomp is an awesome little box that’s held its own in a crowded market. When we did our video coverage at NAMM 2020, we were recording everything through the HX Stomp, so we road-tested the little sucker hard. And it came through. Loads of great tones, and its very robust, too. Grab one of these with €157 off. Recommended.

Neunaber Neuron Gain Intelligence

When this little pedal was announced at NAMM 2019, we were pretty astounded by the Neunaber’s ambition to pack all that functionality into one little effect. It’s a preamp-slash-distortion with a multi-stage, dynamic gain architecture that even packs in MIDI control to access up to 24 presets using an external MIDI controller. There’s also an onboard compressor, noise gate and a output with speaker emulation as well! The deal price: nearly 50% off at €199! Frankly, at this price, that’s a steal.

tc electronic Plethora X5

Offered here at €68 off, the Plethora X5 includes the Flashback DelayHall of Fame Reverb, Corona Chorus, Vortex Flanger and a whole lot more – every single one of its TonePrint effects, in fact – all packed into one compact digital pedalboard. That’s a lot FX in one unit. And it brings in all that clever TonePrint tech, wireless connections and whatnot that have helped make the TonePrint series a big seller.

Electro Harmonix Deluxe Big Muff PI

The Big Muff Pi is an essential part of modern guitar sounds, used by so many famous rock players on their guitar and bass sounds. It’s been through many iterations and while this isn’t the most compact version of this circuit, it’s sure to get you that Big Muff sound. This edition has a Mid boost on an additional footswitch, which is nice, as well as the Bass Boost switch. It’s nearly 20% off at €89, so a nice little saving. Or perhaps one to pop under the Christmas tree of the bassist or guitarist in your life?

Joyo Gem Box III

To be honest, this multi-effect pedal was already good value at the standard retail price. So to see it on sale at 1/3 off makes it a compelling proposition. 61 preamp emulations, a total of 157 effects, 300 preset tones, plus 26 impulse responses – and the ability to load your IRs, too. The effects are arranged in nine effects modules, which are then adjusted via nine individual buttons. The internal effects chain can be re-ordered.
