After all the frantic build-up over the weekend, here it is: The Kemper Profliler Stage has now officially been announced. It’s a multi-effect guitar amp that packs the whole Profiler system into a floorboard unit, including the company’s profiling technology, adding a foot controller package for live use.

After the teaser video over the weekend and the Instagram leak yesterday, it wasn’t really a huge surprise to see the official announcement of the new Kemper Profiler Stage. But this is still an exciting bit of kit: it’s a Profiler-in-a-floorboard that should give you all the power you could ever need in one relatively compact device. This is a serious proposition for gigging guitar players.

Profiler and Remote
Billed as a combination of a Profiler and the Remote foot controller, the Profiler Stage should give you some pretty intuitive control and ways to organise performances, switch rigs and drive parameter morphs. Kemper says the screen is illuminated but sunlight-safe and will adapt to the prevailing light conditions. Neat. That will be an important feature for playing on dark stages and sun-drenched summer festivals.

Control
The unit has five main switches with direct access to five rigs per performance. With one tap you can select your rig, then a second tap activates the morphing to start a variation of that rig. Four switches can be independently assigned to individual effects per Rig. This allows you to toggle Pre and Post Amp FX, either by themselves or in groups. You can also switch parameters such as Action & Freeze or Delay Infinity. The unit has hard-wired dedicated switches, for tuner mode and the pedal’s internal looper, as well as the tap tempo function.
The Profiler Stage has rear inputs to connect up to four external expression pedals, letting you continuously control parameters, like volume, wah or dedicated morph pedal and so on. There are two stereo effect loops including stereo returns that will let you hook up pedals and any outboard FX you lug with you to your live gigs.
You can watch the official Kemper Profiler Stage video and tutorial videos below to see the new pedal in action. RRP is EUR 1600, so in line with existing products in the Profiler range. The unit will be available via Kemper’s online store and authorised retailers this week.
