Spotify Lossless: Audiophiles Rejoice!
No more feeling left out at the audiophiles tea party.
That’s right, folks, Spotify Lossless is finally here for Premium subscribers, with the highest quality listening experience on the platform.
For years, Spotify has been scoffed at in audiophile circles for not providing lossless audio streaming. Well, those days are over, as Spotify Premium subscribers in selected regions around the world will start receiving notifications about this highly anticipated feature.
Spotify Lossless
Audio snobs with Tidal and Apple Music accounts have always looked down their noses at Spotify subscribers, but the competitors are not the motivation behind this move. According to Spotify, they are simply aiming to reward their Premium subscribers with the best user experience possible, and lossless audio is a highly requested feature.

This joins the wide range of features available to Spotify Premium users, including options like AI Playlist, DJ, brand-new Mix, Jam, daylist, and, of course, the wealth of playlists created by Spotify’s in-house editorial team. When you listen to lossless audio on Spotify, you can stream in FLAC format at up to 24-bit 44.1 kHz, with most of your favourite songs available in lossless.
The lossless audio mode is available from the familiar quality settings such as Low, Normal, High, and Very High, that you can adjust for your Wi-Fi, cellular, and downloads, with info about how much data will be used in each case. You can use lossless audio on a wide range of mobile, tablet, and desktop devices, as well as those with Spotify Connect support.
Currently, this includes devices from manufacturers like Sennheiser, Bose, SONY, and Samsung, with support for Sonos, Amazon, and many other devices arriving from next month.
Pricing and Availability:
Spotify Premium monthly memberships start at $11.99 for Premium Individual, $16.99 for Premium Duo, $19.99 for Premium Family (up to six accounts), and $5.99 for Premium Student.
The wait is finally over; we’re so excited lossless sound is rolling out to Premium subscribers. We’ve taken time to build this feature in a way that prioritizes quality, ease of use, and clarity at every step, so you always know what’s happening under the hood. With Lossless, our premium users will now have an even better listening experience.
