The Italian based Sound Summit has an impressive guest list including Dave Smith, Suzanne Ciani, Roger Linn and Chris Meyer plus over 60 exhibitors and a whole bunch of exclusive videos ready to roll when it all kicks off on the 14th and 15th November.

These virtual synth events have got more and more impressive. Synthbooth in October set the bar quite high for how these sorts of events could be run but SoundMiT believes they are up to the challenge.

We have decided to support all the companies in the sector by offering them unprecedented visibility with a participation that is not just a showcase but a real virtual experience where musical instrument makers will be able to meet visitors, journalists and international buyers.

The Sound Summit will be divided into three parts:

  • Exhibiters: Virtual Booths will be open over the whole weekend where you can check out news on products, see demonstrations and talk to the manufacturers.
  • Virtual interviews: A series of live-streamed interviews with the movers and shakers in the world of synthesizers and electronic music.
  • Music Performances: An international range of live music from artists such as Benge, Doug Lynner and Illusion of Safety.

Where Synthbooth used an off-the-shelf conference platform SoundMiT says that they’ve developed their own web platform to run the event. I imagine that’s been an awful amount of work and I wonder how well it will come together for visitors.

The full schedule is yet to be announced but I can tell you that at some point over the weekend I’ll be doing a live stream interview with Roger Linn so do come along and say hi. The event is completely free and open to anyone and you’ll need to register to make the best of what’s on offer. So clear your calendar and prepare for some fabulous content.
