The latest two guitars from Ola Englund’s Solar Guitars brand are both 7-strings: the E1.7FBB and V1.7FBB. Both come in a dark, blacked-out, even weapon-like look. Great for down-tuned crushing riffs, then!

Solar Guitars E1.7FBB and V1.7FBB

The new Solar Guitars E1.7FBB and V1.7FBB both come in a Flame Black Burst Matte finish applied to a mahogany body. It all looks very metal! If you like that black look, you will love these two new models.

Both guitars have 25,5” three-piece neck loaded with stainless steel frets on an ebony fretboard. The neck has Luminlay side dots. You get locking tuners and an EverTune bridge, too, so this hardware should keep your riffs tight and focused – just what you need for heavy riffing and fluid note runs.

These instruments are fitted with Duncan Solar pickups wired via a three-way toggle switch, with one volume and tone control as well as a push-pull for coil cut. Both models come with a gig bag, but you can now also order Type V and Type E hard cases as an added extra.

Cerberus

You can hear the new E Type in action during the Cerberus video below. Listening to the audio, it sounds pretty decent to me and I think if you want a modern 7-string guitar, then you should check these new models out.

Top Quality?

Online reports of Solar Guitars have been good and players seem to be picking up on their quality. Ola Englund has done an impressive job of building up his brand. It is great to see positive reports popping up everywhere about his guitar range. The recent Phillip McKnight unboxing was very favourable, so I have popped it below, just in case you haven’t seen it. If you have any experience of a Solar guitar, let us know in the comments section below.

Both models can be ordered now directly from the Solar Guitars site below and they should ship during March.
