Few other metal bands (I know, I know: labeling SP as metal is a bit “controversial”) have risen to fame as meteorically as Sleep Token in the last few years. So, it was about time for Sleep Token signature guitars! In this cas, guitarist IV is getting a custom-made Jackson Monarkh, and bass player III is getting an equally custom Charvel San Dimas bass.

Of course, vocalist Vessel takes center stage during Sleep Token’s epic shows. But the two times I’ve seen the band in recent years, as a music nerd, I’ve also thoroughly analyzed the rest of the band, all of whom are equally costumed and masked. There’s II, an extremely dynamic drummer who plays beats that straddle the line between metal, hip-hop, and prog – and even pop.
Then, there’s the towering III with his fiery red mane and his bass, striding across the stage in giant steps almost like one Robert Trujillo. From what I remember, he likes get into little scuffles with Vessel when things get really intense. And then there’s IV, who is often surprisingly far in the background given his wall of guitar sound. He gets the Pro Plus Series Signature Sleep Token IV Monarkh SC from Jackson.
As you’d expect from Sleep Token Signature guitars, almost everything here is black: the finish is called Transparent Black Burst. Mahogany body, maple top with quilted maple veneer (which is what makes the burst finish look so amazing), two Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic humbuckers, and an Evertune F6 bridge—plus an epic 30-inch baritone scale length. Seriously metal!

Charvel Sleep Token III Signature Pro-Mod San Dimas Bass V
If you say Sleep Token signature guitars, you have to say Sleep Token signature basses, too! This model for III is based on Charvel’s San Dimas V bass. Of course, the body (poplar) is black, while the neck and fingerboard are made of caramelized maple—all in a 5-string configuration.
In addition, this model (which, to the best of my knowledge, is actually quite rare on basses) features fanned frets, ie. a multiscale scale design (34.4″ to 35.5″) with 24 frets.
The model also features two Fishman Fluence Bass Soapbar humbuckers. As this is an active bass, it’s complete with volume, blend, and two-band EQ controls. The bass is available at Thomann* or Sweetwater* and comes with a Charvel Deluxe gig bag.
