Sampling, beat-making and performance are the cornerstones of the officially revealed Circuit Rhythm but we won’t see it until the summer.
Since the official release of Circuit Tracks yesterday I imagine people were clamouring for information about the other one. We’ve seen the leaked photos and captured a flavour of what the new Circuit Rhythm might be about but now we have a bit more of an official preview.
All right, it doesn’t tell us much but let’s assume that it works in a very similar way to the existing Circuit and the new Circuit Tracks with its sequencing, mixing and effecting workflow. The main difference here is that you can sample directly into Circuit Rhythm and those samples become the focus of the sound engine. You can trim and sculpt, trigger and resample in more of an MPC style way of beat production.
Rather than having a pair of synths and some drum tracks the Circuit Rhythm is all about the drums. Those macro knobs are now performing tasks and functions on your samples and you have a straight-forward 8 tracks of pattern sequencing.
That’s all the info they are willing to share at the moment. It’s a shame it wasn’t ready the same time as the Tracks but it gives us something to look forward to.
