With only the release of the Babyface Pro last year not a whole lot’s been going on with German manufacturer RME – until now! Taking the home advantage RME has dropped 4 brand new products upon us as part of their 20th anniversary celebrations. There’s a MADIface Pro, a Fireface UFX+, a ADI-2 Pro converter and an Advanced Remote Control. Let’s have a quick look.

The MADIface Pro is a variation on the aforementioned Babyface Pro with the same 4 in/out analogue but with the addition of 64 channels of MADI.

The Fireface UFX+ adopts Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 to offer 188 channels of I/O – a combination of analogue, ADAT, MADI, AES and S/PDIF. You don’t even need a computer, you can record 76 channels directly to a compatible flash drive.

The ADI-2 Pro is a high-end AD/DA converter USB 2.0 class compliant interface and headphone amplifier. It can covert between AES, S/PDIF and ADAT and supports sample frequencies up to 768 kHz. It also features a 5-band EQ as well as a low cut filter on all analogue I/O. The high-resolution IPS display looks stunning.

The ARC USB or Advanced Remote Control brings tactile control over the TotalMix FX software and is optimised for use with the new UFX+. It simply connects via USB and gives you a jog wheel and 15 assignable buttons as well as a port for a footswitch. I applaud anything that helps make using the TotalMix FX software easier to use because it usually boggles my mind.

No news on availability or pricing but RME are not known to tease so we should be expecting them sooner rather than later.
