The new Marshall Studio JTM ST20H Head and JTM ST20C Combo have been revealed; two matching 1×12 and 2×12 cabinets join the lineup. Is the famous British guitar amp brand back on track making products for musicians, rather than Bluetooth-enabled HiFi speakers and consumer headphones?

Marshall Studio JTM ST20

The new Marshall Studio JTM ST20 range is a vintage-style tube amp, available either as a head or in a combo format.

It will do those classic vintage-to-crunch tones, we all love and has a rating of 20 watts with power reduction down to 5 watts. Making it perfect for lots of applications.

They are all handmade in the UK at Bletchley, so expect great build quality from this new range.

Both the combo and cabinets feature the G12M-65 Creamback Celestion speakers and should have some great vintage-flavoured tones.

The basic specifications are based on 2 x ECC83 preamp tubes, 1 x ECC83 (phase splitter) and  2x 5881 power tubes. It has controls for treble, midrange, bass, and presence.

Each amp has one channel with two voicings: High Treble (Loudness 1) and Normal (Loudness 2). Plus, with four inputs (high/low sensitivity), they can be pretty versatile as well.

Back on Track

Since Marshall was acquired by Zounds Industries back in March, it appears to be back on track in building the products that guitarists want.

We’ve also seen the reissue of Marshall’s popular vintage overdrive pedals, too; it could be a good year for Marshall!

The new Marshall Studio JTM ST20 range looks great and from the demo video below, sounds great as well.

This is essentially a modern-day take on the classic JTM45 and makes a fitting tribute to what would have been Jim Marshall’s 100th birthday year.

MSRP – JTM ST20H EUR 899 *, JTM ST20C Combo EUR 1099 *, Studio JTM ST112 Cabinet EUR 479 * and Studio JTM ST212 Cabinet EUR 649 *
