SubBass

The SubBass Academy has been running courses for DJ’s and producers for 14 years. Located in Westminster they have courses for everyone from the beginner to the seasoned pro looking to refine or expand their skill set. Their music production courses cover Logic Pro and Ableton Live and the DJ courses cover all aspects of music mixing and performance. They run from weekends, to evening classes, one month to six month courses.

MPC Weekend

The new MPC course is a weekend specialist affair. It goes into the finer intricacies of the MPC platform, covering workflow and the the production capabilities of Akai Pro’s flagship MPC Touch. Students will learn the techniques, tips and tricks that were the foundation of many forms of electronic music.

It’s 16 hours of intensive pad slapping, knob fiddling, sample editing and DAW integration. This being DJ focused it runs from 12 noon to 8pm, so no early mornings for these people and then presumably straight on out to a club – it’s the DJ lifestyle.

The weekend costs £395. All students will qualify for discounts on the MPC Touch and other equipment from Westend DJ – nice touch. The first course runs on the 19th and 20th November and is booking now.
