Images of what appears to be Arturia’s “3 Delays You’ll Actually Use” have been leaked by Production Expert. They were quickly taken down, but thankfully someone managed to grab them. What we’re seeing here could very well be an upcoming collection of three delay plug-ins by Arturia.

After “3 Preamps”,”3 Filters” and “3 Compressors”, 3 Delays You’ll Actually Use seems like a logical addition to Arturia’s lineup of effects.

Space Echo and Memory Man emulations

Arturia’s “3 effects” series focuses heavily on the biggest classics. So there absolutely had to be an emulation of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo. The Delay Tape-201 plug-in seems to come with separate repeat rates for the left and right channels, as well as a stereo width control. We’re also spotting a switch that lets you select L/R, Ping Pong, and M/S modes.

Next in line is Memory Brigade, which looks like an emulation of the Electro Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man. The bucket-brigade-based Memory Man is one of the big delay classics in the world of guitar stompboxes. Again, Arturia has apparently incorporated some stereo features that the stompbox doesn’t have. There’s also a switch that lets you set the BBD size, with settings called “Deluxe” and “1100”. That’s a clue that the plug-in also emulates the Memory Man’s newer cousin with a delay time of 1100 milliseconds.

The third plug-in doesn’t immediately ring a bell with me. I’m not sure if this is an emulation of an actual hardware unit (which one?), or rather what Arturia thinks the ideal digital delay should be. Delay Eternity seems to have two separate delay lines, a bunch of different delay modes, a bitcrusher and a resonant filter.

As of now, we don’t have confirmation of “3 Delays You’ll Actually Use” – we don’t even know for sure if the pictures are real, yet. But it does make a lot of sense, from the timing, to the choice of effects, to the design of the plug-ins. What do you think? We’ve already seen countless new delays in 2019, like Audiority PlexiTape, Overloud OTD-2, ValhallaDelay, and Pulsar Echorec. Is there even a demand for three additional ones from Arturia?

Their “3” series have been good great so far. I love BBD delays, so I can’t wait for Arturia’s version. ValhallaDelay is also great.
