Superbooth 2019 kicks off on Thursday 9th May and it’s become the biggest synthesizer event of the year. Almost every exhibitor will have something new to show either as a product ready for release or something they’ve been working on. Some manufacturers like to send out the details ahead of time while others keep their cards close to their chest until the show opens. Others like to tease us with the odd Instagram video, Facebook post of a blurry image or Tweet of something coming. In this article I’ll round-up those teases to whet our appetites before we get the full details.

La Voix Du Luthier Eurorack case

They made these amazing sound-board resonators for electronic instruments. They are introducing a complete Eurorack case with custom resonator attached which looks completely awesome if a little unwieldy.

Enjoy Electronics Reminder

It’s some kind of effects box I think. You can draw your own conclusions from the stream of consciousness description on the Instagram post. Looks very lovely though.

Instruo modules

Instruo says they have a number of modules to debut at the show. We saw a sneak preview of the Lubadh looper recently and then this interesting module popped up on Instagram.

IK Multimedia UNO Drum

IK has released a few photos of prototypes on breadboards and PCBs. This latest Instagram video indicates that it’s probably a drum machine. There’s a URL at the IK sites for something called UNO Drum, with no content. Yet.

Update: It’s here. It is called Uno Drum, and it looks kinda fantastic. A compact, no-fuss beat box that can run on batteries.

The Division Department 01/IV Drum Synth

Another drum machine this time from newcomers The Division Department. There have been a few images, one very weird video but no explanations. Now we have a video of three of the machines in action which gives us a bit more of an idea what it’s all about.

Update: More information here.

Polyend suggest we should take a bite, have a taste

A nicely teasing video from Polyend showing a glimpse of a new product. There are some nicely lit mini-knobs and some of those small white pads that appear on the SEQ. It’s probably wider than it looks and could be another drum related machine.

Novation Summit

We saw this leak of a page from a magazine advertising the Novation Summit polyphonic synthesizer. This could be one of the hottest products at the show assuming it’s there.

Elektron #unlockyoursweetdreams

Elektron is teasing something on their Instagram feed. Is it a new synthesizer or maybe Overbridge is finally out of beta? There’s a machine in the video that looks a lot like a Digitone. Maybe they are just being interesting – we shall see.

Update: Could it be a Digitone Keys? We caught a leak here.

UDO Super 6 Polysynth

Very little information on this new synthesizer except that it has 12 voices of polyphonic binaural super-wave technology.

Pittsburgh Voltage Research Laboratory

Something deliciously weird and spooky going on in Pittsburgh. It’s two modules, a sound generator and a controller, working together while an awful lot of patching.

Update: Full details on this amazing Eurorack instrument are here.

More to come?

I’ll update this article as we uncover other hints and teases at what to expect on Thursday.
