A possible slip up by Thomann Music Store may have revealed an unexpected Elektron product due to be revealed at Superbooth 2019. It’s probably called the Digitone Keys and appears to be a Digitone with a keyboard strapped on the side.

Does anyone remember the Monomachine SFX-6? It was the Elektron SFX-60 synthesizer drum machine with a 3-octave keyboard attached. That does lend a lot of credence to the photograph.

Anyway, the image came from the Sequencer.de forum and is allegedly from Thomann. I can’t find it on there now but the Digitone Keys does turn up as an option when you search for it. The link doesn’t work though.

Well, if it’s real then it’s pretty exciting although personally, I’ve never seen anything quite so weird and unbalanced in all my life. I guess it stops the keyboard getting in the way of the Digitone workflow like it would if they designed it as a regular style synthesizer. Hopefully more information will emerge at the show.
