Intellijel squeezes delay, reverb and chorus into the Multi-FX 1U Eurorack module

Multi-FX 1U
Intellijel is one of the few Eurorack companies with a significant range of 1U modules. Regular modules are 3U tall and most racks are built to accommodate them. Some cases make room for a row of 1U modules (often called “Tiles”) and they tend to offer simple and good value functionality in small spaces.
The Multi-FX 1U is pretty enormous for a 1U module and drops some very useful but dead simple effects that you could use with everything.
It has three effects; Delay, Chorus and Reverb. You can’t use them together or chain them up or anything you simply select which one you want to use by the switch at the top. The knobs then become the parameter controls of the selected effect.
- Reverb: Pre-delay, Tone and Decay (reverb length).
- Delay: Time/div, Tone and Repeats.
- Chorus: Rate, Tone and Depth of modulation.
In all three modes the Tone control is a simple low pass filter and the Mix knob controls the wet/dry mix. There’s a clock input that can control the timing of the Delay and the rate of Chorus modulation. There’s also a tap-tempo button.
Inputs and outputs are both in stereo although the inputs are summed to mono before going through the effects processor.
The Multi-FX 1U is a very useful module that provides simple effects that can be hard to find in regular Eurorack. It costs $129 and the only trouble is that you’ll probably want at least 2.
