Both household names in their own right, Ikea and EDM superheroes Swedish House Mafia have collaborated on a new range of studio furniture and turntables. Ikea Obegränsad brings you over twenty pieces of furniture in the Music Creator range. The first three pieces were on show at Milan Design Week 2022, including a studio table, a turntable, and a studio chair.
The collaboration between Ikea and Swedish House Mafia (SHM) was announced in autumn last year, but now it’s official. Obegränsad(Unlimited) is a collection of more than twenty products tailored for music creators.

The studio desk, with its sliding keyboard shelf, is certainly one of the centerpieces of the collection. In addition, the Obegränsad desk is equipped with two monitor shelves and there is even an Obegränsad studio chair built for those long hours of production.

Ikea and SHM also launched the Obegränsad turntable, which is another step forward in home entertainment for Ikea following the Symfonisk and Eneby Bluetooth speakers. A turntable design was launched back in 2018, but it never made it into production.
This new model is USB powered, with an integrated phono stage that allows you to connect to your speakers directly via RCA. The turntable will ship with an Audio-Technica cartridge which is also interchangeable with parts from other manufacturers.

You’ll be able to order the Ikea Obegränsad range from October this year. Although prices are unavailable, we understand from the press release that musicians are the target, so affordability is a major factor.

Horrible
why?
The roll-out keyboard tray…why does it not fit at least a 61 key keyboard controller? Having a computer keyboard tray is not that useful; many desks have that.
The musical keyboard is meant to go on top and the typing keyboard is meant to go on the bottom.
