This week, we check out some of the latest stompbox releases. First up is the ThorpyFX 2000 AD-inspired run of three classic pedals, all in comic book finishes for a limited run. Plus, Old Blood Noise Endeavors has just announced the Sunlight Stereo reverb, and we also check out the new Wampler Mini Ego 76 Compressor.

ThorpyFX 2000 AD
ThorpyFX has partnered with 2000 AD to help celebrate 35 years of the Judge Dredd Megazine and has created the Judge Dredd Lawbringer Overdrive, Judge Death Deathbringer Distortion, and Rogue Trooper Fuzz.
Drokktober!
They are actually based on three of ThorpyFX’s popular drive pedals, but now they are available as a limited run in these comic book-inspired graphics. Growing up in the UK, I was an avid fan of 2000 AD as a kid, and so these really appeal to my inner geek.
Pre Order
They are available to pre-order for £229 each. If you are a fan of 2000 AD, then they could be perfect for you; however, if you just want the pedals they are based on, then you can opt for the standard finishes
The Lawbringer Overdrive is a Gunshot, the Deathbringer Distortion is the Warthog, and the Rogue Trooper fuzz is a Fallout Cloud. There are also some cool matching plectrums and stickers available from ThorpyFX for this run of Judge Dredd-inspired stompboxes.
OBNE Sunlight Stereo
Old Blood Noise Endeavors has released the Sunlight Stereo, and yes, it’s a stereo version of the Sunlight Dynamic Freeze Reverb I wrote about back in 2021.
Beyond Reverb
It is available in a few finish variations, and if you want an interesting reverb effect that goes beyond standard plates, rooms, and halls, then this could be for you.
The stereo in and out has an analog dry through, so it should keep your main signal sounding as you would expect.
The Sunlight is a stereo reverb pedal with an onboard Low-Frequency Oscillator (LFO) that can modulate several post-reverb effects: delay, filtering, and volume control. By combining these modulated parameters, you can create various effects like flanger, chorus, moving filter, and tremolo.
As ever with OBNE, be prepared to experiment and don’t expect a regular reverb effect with this pedal, or you will be disappointed. However, if you like reverbs that give oddball results and allow the user to make the effect react in real-time, then you’ll love it!
I like that it has an LFO speed that can be based on how you play and things like dynamically held trails, all fun things for any musician who likes to experiment.
It is basically the accompanying pedal to their Dark Star Stereo Reverb, just lighter (if that is a thing), and so if you liked that one, then you should enjoy this as well.

Mini Ego 76 Compressor
Wampler has released the Mini Ego 76 Compressor, a new compact version of their popular 1176-based compression circuit.
Minified, yet still potent
Even though it is now very compact, it is still based on the 1176 Peak Limiter circuit, which guitarists love to use. The FET-based design is musical and has a simple control layout, but still manages to give users that studio-style compression.
Compression Controls
It has two mini switches that control the Attack and Release, plus a Parallel Clean Blend knob; these are then complemented by the main Volume and Comp (compression) knobs. So it is simple to use and perfect for anyone who needs a studio-type compressor, but who is pushed for space on their pedalboard.
