IKEA Guitar

Literally made using recycled IKEA furniture this guitar actually looks really nice and has a really nice style. It was built by YouTuber Tchiks Guitars from Brussels, Belgium and the self-taught guitar maker documented his work.

Parts List

The guitar uses the following IKEA parts. The neck is made from a STUVA cot and the body used the  HENRIKSDAL chair and a LACK shelf. Next, the fretboard was made using an MÅLERÅS picture ledge.

He then used the APTILIG chopping board for the control knobs and finally the output jack plate was made using the LILANGEN door handle and the strap buttons can from a KALLAX insert knob.

Swamp Ash

Elsewhere, it comes with a solid Swamp Ash body and a set-thru C-shape three-piece maple neck with a 12″ radius rosewood fretboard. It has 22 Jescar 47/104 nickel silver frets, a TUSQ nut and a set of Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners.

At the body, there is a tried and tested Tune-o-Matic bridge and stop bar tailpiece setup.

Looks like a pretty stunning guitar and it sounds great in the demo video below.  I like this one a lot and it looks like a workhorse instrument.

Muse Strat

Muse’s Will Of The People world tour is in full swing and frontman Matt Bellamy has specified a Strat-style guitar from his Manson Guitar Works company. As Matt owns part of the company it couldn’t have been hard to convince them to make it.

S-Type Prototype

The prototype has custom Manson pickups and comes in a Desert Sunburst finish with a blue-mirrored pickguard. The pickups are neck and middle single coils with a stacked bridge pickup designed by Manson’s Simon Thorn.  It has a Gotoh 510 bridge and the rear of the alder body has a carved belly cut for comfort.

If you go to see Muse live whilst they are on tour then you will no doubt get to hear it in action.
