Buzzing Bugs Audio Devices

The Buzzing Bugs Audio Devices BB04 Full Range Drive pedal is inspired by two classic ‘blues’ pedals. It is hand-built in Cornwall, UK, and uses four Op-Amp Gain Stages to achieve added headroom and a dynamic response.

Simplicity

The pedal has a lovely, simple user interface consisting of Volume, Gain, and Tone controls. A two-position switch labelled Body controls the EQ parameters, thinning or thickening the tone.

Affordable

At £129, these boutique overdrive pedals are comparable in price to some of the more prominent pedal manufacturers. Indeed, it is a pedal brand to follow throughout 2024, as it received rave reviews at The Guitar Show 2024 in the UK at the beginning of March.

Death By Audio

Death By Audio has released the Octave Clang V2, a pedal that offers a combination of distortion, ring modulation, and octave-up effects. This pedal is not subtle but more for musicians who like a fuzzy, dirty, sometimes metallic tone.

Boost

Then, to add even more insanity to the effect, Death By Audio has incorporated a +39dB gain boost! It also has a dedicated footswitch to engage/disengage the octave effect. The circuit design features a pre-gain tone circuit with tilt EQ for extra tone sculpting.

Bias

The pedal also features an internal bias control to mis-bias the distortion circuit for even rougher textures if required. Possibly, one for the brave. A tremendous dirty, octave fuzz-style effect with a lot of power, it can go from whisper quiet to ear-splitting volumes, so it offers a lot for the money.

This new pedal starts shipping on 14 March.

MSRP – USD 225
