Gibson teases new Adam Jones USA Standard Silverburst, and more!

Gibson has teased a new Silverburst Adam Jones USA Standard along with a pair of highly limited edition, aged Tom Murphy Custom Shop Korina Flying V and Explorer models. This new video from Gibson shows Mark Agnesi, Cesar Gueikian, Richie Faulkner, and Dave Mustaine looking over these new guitars.

You can clearly see the new Adam Jones USA Standard Silverburst Les Paul with its distinctive teardrop ‘burst pattern on the front, the Adam Jones logo on the rear of the headstock, and the reversed neck pickup. This is all in the new Gibson TV video below entitled The Collection: Cesar Gueikian Brand President of Gibson Brands.

Following on from Jones’ sold-out run of the Custom Shop model, it would make perfect sense to have a production USA of one of his guitars as well. This new model is sure to sell like hotcakes! The original run was also made famous by the missing truckload, with 13 guitars stolen, which then had to be re-made for their original purchasers.

More Adam Jones?

The rumour mill also suggests we may see an Adam Jones Silverburst Flying V Custom model, as one was teased at the end of his official Gibson video for the Silverburst Les Paul Custom, and perhaps even an Epiphone Adam Jones model. We know Adam Jones is working on multiple guitar releases with Gibson, and it’s possible we see these new models very soon.

Tom Murphy aged Custom Shop Korina Flying V and Explorer

Then there is the pair of Custom Shop, Murphy Aged Korina 1950s models, that includes a two-piece body Flying V and a single piece body Explorer. Each guitar also features a Brazilian rosewood fretboard, and is made to the exact same specifications as the originals.

Just like the original run in the late ’50s, there are 81 Flying V models and only 19 Explorer models being made. These highly desirable and very collectible models will no doubt cost a small fortune, but could be amazing, and I can see collectors wanting to add them to their collections.

Richie Faulkner with Medallion Flying V Reissue?

The Trogly video also hints there might be a Medallion Flying V reissue, as you see Richie Faulkner of Judas Priest and Dave Mustaine of Megadeth looking at Cesar’s vintage one. So maybe we will see one in the future as a release? Both play Flying V models, although Mustaine eventually ends up showing off his new Gibson signature acoustic model instead.
