North Carolina’s finest synthesizer manufacturer has released something that might not be as exciting as a new synth but it could be just what you need to spruce up your studio. It’s a pack of 25 knobs to upgrade your Moog semi-modular. They’re silver with black outer edges and have a small, white dot to indicate position.
Moog designed them to work with its line of semi-modular synths, the Mavis, Werkstatt-01, DFAM and Subharmonicon. They’re meant to replace the smaller knobs on the units and complement the larger ones. If you’ve ever seen or played with a Moog synth, you’ll instantly recognize the knob type.

Eurorack Compatible
Non-Moog owners can get in on the fun too. Moog designed the knobs to work with any 6mm knurled pot shaft. This means that compatible Eurorack modules also apply. Moog knobs for all!
The knobs have an internal interface that locks them into place without a screw so you can change them by hand. Not so much plug and play but pull and play, by the looks of it. Moog has also designed them to preserve the print on the front panel of your instrument so they won’t block any important information.

Rugged and Classic
I have always been a fan of Moog’s knobs so I like the idea of putting them in places they might not usually go. They look great and make me think of not only classic synths but also rugged hardware from the 20th century.
You can see the knobs in action in the image below. Here they’re replacing the original sequencer knobs on a DFAM. They look particularly smart on the Mavis and Werkstatt-01 synths, which don’t have any of the Moog-style knobs at all.

Knobs In Your Socks
I have no idea if Moog intended it this way, but releasing this accessory now makes it a perfect stocking stuffer. I know I’d be stoked to find these twiddlers in my stocking.
Family and friends of synth nerds, take note. You might not be able to afford a full Moog synthesizer, but knobs you certainly could.

Finally! I’ve been waiting years for this. Unfortunately too expensive for a bulk-product made in China. I’d pay half of the price.
