Erica Synths says their take on the classic LPG is great for waveshaping, beat refining and carving of low frequencies with a nicely explosive resonant overdrive.

Inside is a 2nd order lowpass voltage-controlled filter and VCA combination with a distinct resonance circuit on top. You have voltage control over the filter cutoff frequency and the VCA offset and it has a built-in decay envelope generator. There are VCF/VCF+VCA/VCA modes.

It has the feel of a highly resonant filter that can be pushed and overdriven with a built-in overdrive switch. It’s not initially what you expect from a lowpass gate but that just demonstrates the versatility that appears in all of Ericas Synths modules; there’s always something else going on.

Once you start triggering the envelope you enter the familiar realm of that bouncing LPG sound but with an explosive resonant filter aspect. The sound demo video below gives you a good idea of the range and potential of this module.
