We saw this great looking dual filter module at Superbooth. It’s a Black Dual VCF module for Eurorack from Erica Synths. It has a fabulous strip of LEDs across the front plate giving feedback on the signals frequency spectrum.
Black Dual VCF
It features two identical multi-mode, voltage controlled filters. They can send high, low and band pass filtering to the outputs simultaneously. Or you can select which type of filter on either side is heading to the sum output at the bottom. And they can be in series or parallel. There are cutoff and resonance knobs for each side (both voltage controlled) as well as input level and attenuverters for the filter controls.
The core of the VCF uses a custom multimode AS3320 chip. You can use the filters completely independently, or linked for stereo applications. You can chain them up in series or parallel and use it as one big sound manipulation device. The 16 band spectrum analyser gives some wonderful visual feedback to the action at the summing output. It’s going to look amazing in any rack.
The Black Dual VCF is 18hp wide and will cost €350 ex VAT. Should be available next week.
