Epiphone has just announced a bunch of new limited-edition Pro and Lite models. The 12 new releases include versions of the Casino, SG and Les Paul Traditional. Although they might seem minor, these minor modifications – including new finishes and pickups – are sending all the right signals.

The Casino is being offered in a sparkling Sunrise Orange finish while the SG G-400 Deluxe Pro is available in a new Translucent Red or Blue finish over a flame maple veneer top.

The Les Paul Traditional Pro-III Plus is available in Heritage Cherry Sunburst and Desert Burst.

Upgraded Pickups

The SG-400s come loaded with  Alnico Classic Pro humbuckers with push/pull coil-splitting capabilities. And the Les Paul Traditional Pro-III gets Gibson USA humbuckers and an onboard boost function that can be engaged for an extra 15dB of gain!

Limited Edition

These limited editions of the Pro and Lite models will, however, only be available via selected Epiphone dealers, so you may have to shop around to find them. In my opinion, Epiphone have been ‘knocking it out the park’ for quite some time. After yesterday’s announcement of the attractive Vivian Campbell signature Holy Diver Les Paulthese new limited edition models also make a good impression. Way to go, Epiphone.

I have the original lite lp. It plays beautifully, stays in tune, and sounds great..And,vwhen I first pulled it out of the box and looked at it, I actually gasped.. it is beautiful looking, as well…hasn’t given me a problem in ten years or so, and, I’m so glad to have it…and I have been playing since 1968…I even still have my dad’s 65jazzmaster, but the lp stays right next to me.. awesome guitars!
