The new Blackstar CV10 Carmen Vandenberg Signature follows on from the CV30 model launched back in 2021. This limited edition amp is based on the Studio 10 6L6 and looks like a little cracker!
CV10 Carmen Vandenberg Signature
Blackstar has launched the new CV10 Carmen Vandenberg Signature combo. It is based around a Studio 10 6L6, which is one of Carmen’s favourite amps. This smaller combo has a super simple control layout that consists of Master, Gain, Tone and Reverb knobs, plus a Drive button for added gain. Having the onboard digital reverb makes it slightly more flexible and will add a touch more versatility.
The combo is rated at 10 watts power output and utilises a single ECC83 preamp tube paired with a single 6L6 power tube. It comes loaded with a single 12″ Celestion Seventy-80 speaker. The amp also features speaker outputs with 1 x 16 Ohm, 1 x 8 Ohm and 2 x 16 Ohm. There is also a speaker emulated output and an effects loop. This all adds up to a very flexible and portable amp setup.
At just under 15kg this little combo packs in some great features, which I think covers a lot of bases. If you want classic tube tones, then it could be a great portable solution. Or maybe the ideal home or studio amp? I think from the information on the Blackstar site, they are also pitching this amp as a great platform for effects pedals. Having an effects loop will certainly help, and it could be a great little amp to have to hand.
Unfortunately, this is a limited run of only 130 units. Each comes with a Vandenberg-autographed certificate. Let’s hope they sell well and Blackstar decides to put them into a full production run.
