Slimmer pickings for synthesizers amongst the deals but here are a few that caught my eye and some software synth downloads you shouldn’t miss.

Behringer RD-6 and TD-3 combo

Not being sold as a combo but these two are such great deals that you’d be silly not to pick up the pair if you are in the market for a little desktop hardware old school groove machine.

The RD-6 is based upon the Roland TR-606 drum machine but has 8 drum sounds, MIDI/USB, some extra ports and that Boss based Distortion circuit. The 29% off deal is only available on the transparent orange and red versions but for £83 who’s going to worry if it matches your carpet?

The TD-3 is based upon the Roland TB-303 bassline but with a lot more CV control and that Distortion circuit. The perfect companion to the RD-6 in a slightly clashing red colour for only £66.

Polyend Tracker AE Bogdan Raczynski

The Polyend Tracker is a superb and lively tracker style sequencer with a built-in wavetable and granular synthesizer and sampling. You’ve got filters, envelopes and a whole performance space within the machine making it a thoroughly interactive song building experience.

This version comes with Bogdan Raczynski’s original project files, samples and a limited edition EP and, of course, the custom paint job. It’s going for 29% off retail for £421.

IK Multimedia UNO Synth Pro Desktop

The UNO Synth Pro is a very recent addition to the IK Multimedia synthesizer line up. This “Desktop” edition has 3 morphing oscillators, a pair of filters, paraphonic articulation and lots of modulation. The keyboard is neat and compact and you’ll find both a sequencer and an arpeggiator inside.

It’s a synth that has a lot of people talking and has a solid 10% off at £309.

Behringer Wasp Deluxe

Designed to emulate the classic raw sound of the EDP Wasp synthesizer Behringer has taken on the unique colour scheme and recognisable sound and built the Wasp into the familiar Eurorack-ready form factor. It’s got dual oscillators, an analogue multimode filter and lots of LFOs and envelopes that come together in a very enjoyable synthing experience. With 24% off this is a real bargain at £143.

Roadworx Synth Stand

A natty little stand from Roadworx which can prop up a synth nicely for playing. Or maybe a pair of smaller boxes like the Korg Volcas. It has these rather nice sliding edges that can grip the sides of your synth to keep it sitting solidly in place. It’s also possible to mount a couple of stands together with an additional adapter. At £18.60 that’s 24% off.

Software Synth Download deals

It looks like this Black Friday is an ideal time to catch up on some juicy collections of software instruments. There are loads of great software deals out there, these are just a few that caught my eye.

Arturia

You’ll find a whopping 50% off Arturia software which means you can pick up a download of the awesome V Collection 8 for only £255. You’ve got some legendary synths, some iconic sound generators and weird and wonderful digital machines. You’ll not find a better version of the CS-80, Buchla Easel or OB-Xa anywhere. The Fairlight is lots of fun, the Casio CZ-101 is a legend and you have a DX7 will the trimmings. And then you’ve got a proper bunch of acoustic and electric pianos, organs and more. I use the synths from this collection all the time and this is a great time to buy.

The FX Collection 2 is also a great bundle for £170. You’ve got genuinely usable effects in here with many classic emulations and stuff that’s going to transform your mixes. The collection has a bit of everything and they can easily become your go-to plugins in any situation.

Arturia Pigments is one of my favourite modern synths. It sounds great but it’s also fun to play with a lot of modulation and an easy workflow that cuts back on the complexity to let you enjoy sound creation. £84 is a great price for it.

Audiomodern Riffer 3

Not a synth but a fabulously useful riff generator that excels at melody creation and finding new ideas that’ll cure any case of writers block. In Riffer version 3 it has a lot of additional features with performance modes, scales and controllable randomisation. It’s a brilliant tool that’s on offer for £30.

Krotos Audio Concept 2

The new version elevates Concept to a very solid footing as both a brilliant classic synth and a futuristic sound designer. That lush modulation engine gives you some great movement and the new granular oscillator expands into all sorts of territories. It’s not over-complex, it gives great visual feedback and lends itself to those solid sounds you’ll use all the time and has plenty to make them unique to you. £58 is a bargain.

Applied Acoustics Multiphonics CV-1

Applied Acoustics surprised us with the Multiphonics modular synthesizer and it’s really gaining some traction with its simple and clear interface and very agreeable sound. The physical modelling angle that Applied Acoustics is famous for adds an interesting dimension that’s only going to get better and better as this thing expands. It’s half price at the moment for £37.

SoundToys 5

The SoundToys plugins have become classics in their own right with products such as Little AlterBoy, Tremolator and Crystallizer. Now you can get their whole bundle of creative possibilities for £195. The only annoyance is the iLok copy protection but what are you going to do?
