The new 2017 B.C. Rich Kerry King KKW30 signature model is a new model bearing the name of Slayer’s famed guitarist. As you’d expect, its design is anything but subtle. So ultra-metal, this instrument is all about crushing riffs – the ultimate all-round axe of doom?
Reign In Blood
Slayer is, of course, an epic Thrash Metal band – if you don’t agree, well, there is no hope for you. They have innovated and pushed boundaries throughout their careers and Mr Kerry King is the backbone of their sound. That said, this new signature guitar is designed for players seeking Mr King’s tone, so don’t expect anything subtle.
Based on the classic Warlock shape, the new Kerry King KKW30 is a bolt-on neck design and features a mahogany body, with a rock maple neck and a rosewood fretboard. The guitar has KFK Widow headstock comes with the tribal inlay that is synonymous with Mr King. The satin black finish of the KKW30 has a ‘Ghost Flame’ tribal design which matches that tribal inlay on the twelfth fret.
We have no details of the specification of humbuckers, but I would expect them to be fairly high gain. We do know, however, that they are controlled by one Tone and one Volume control, There’s also a pickup selector switch.
I predict that this will be a low-mid budget guitar, but as of yet no official pricing has been announced. If you are a fan of the band then you could pick one of these up for reasonable money. It’s nice to see a signature model offered for those on a budget as many guitars bearing famous names are be quite expensive.
