Arturia joins the list of gear makers who want to brighten your holidays with a free gift. For a few days, you can download the Chorus JUN-6 plug-in for free! But hurry up, this offer ends on December 29th.
Arturia Chorus Jun-6
The Chorus effect of the Roland Juno series synthesizers is loved for its simplicity, classic sound and charming imperfections. It has been modeled many times, both by itself and as part of Juno synthesizer emulations. And now you can have one for free: Arturia, having released the JUN-6 software synth as part of V Collection 8 just a couple of weeks ago, is giving away the Chorus JUN-6 plug-in as a holiday freebie.
Chorus JUN-6 offers the two classic preset buttons found on the Juno series and a third button that simulates the effect of pushing both buttons at the same time. On the Juno, this gives you a third chorus preset with higher intensity and more modulation, but decreased stereo width. But Arturia hasn’t stopped there. They always like to add some features that the originals didn’t offer, and so they’ve given the plug-in a manual mode that lets you set your own values for rate, depth and phase. There’s also a mix knob for setting the effect amount.
I do like the Juno chorus a lot and I’m curious how Arturia’s Chorus JUN-6 compares to TAL-Chorus-LX, which is also free. There’s certainly no shortage of Juno-style chorus effects, but coming from a developer known for its emulations of classic synths, this one looks very promising. And it’s free (for a limited time).
Download and compatibility
You can download Chorus JUN-6 from Arturia’s website for free until December 29th, 2020. The plug-in requires Windows 8.1 or higher or macOS 10.13 or higher and comes in VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats.
You’ll need to create a user account (if you don’t already have one) and download the Arturia Software Center application, which handles the installation and authorization process. Arturia says that it can take a short while until the license is added to your account, due to high demand.
